"Tristan, you do realize that I might have company, right?" I peer at him as he stands at my door.

I love that my family is trying their hardest to bring me into the fold, but now I feel like it's getting a bit ridiculous. They show up at my house whenever they want to. They call me at ridiculous times in the morning or night for strange things like they just wanted to talk to me and even though as it's happening its funny now it's starting to get annoying. I didn't have any company today, but it's astonishing how none of them have caught Trey here in the house yet.

"Yeah, I know, but then you'd actually have to admit that you have someone that you're interested in and then that means you'd have to admit that your heart isnt as cold as you'd like the world to believe. You'd never do that, so...I think that I'm safe."

He shrugs and pushes his way into my house.

"You know you get on my nerves, right?" I say as he walks in my kitchen and pulls out some left over take out food that I was intending to eat for dinner.

"Of course I know I annoy you, that's what brothers are for." he shoots me a wink and I let out a heavy sigh as I shut the door, reserved to the fact that I'm not going to get any peace and quiet today.

After raiding my fridge and telling me about his day for the next two-hours, Tristan decides his visit is complete, and he leaves just as quickly as he came. Listening to my brother bitch and moan about the rest of my family was draining enough that I would have been happy to just go to sleep right there and then, but I know Trey should be coming in any minute.

We've been getting much closer, and he is becoming more apart of my nightly routine than I like to think about. There was a night last week when he had to stay home because of an early morning work situation. I didn't get more than a few minutes sleep. I'm used to having him around now. Not that I mind. If he asked me to move in together, I think I would be just fine with it. That's saying a lot from someone who promised myself that I'd never get close to someone else again.

The bell on my door rings and I hurry over to the peephole to make sure it's indeed Trey. When I see his handsome face, I feel the familiar butterflies inside.. Even after this time, he's still able to get me to feel giddy with him.

"Hey babe."

'Hey beautiful." he says as I open up the door, and he leans down to give me a kiss on the mouth. He walks in, basically dragging himself through the apartment. Whatever he had to do at work today was enough to wipe him out.
